Community Benefits
LOCAL COMMUNITY BENEFITS
In line with the NSW Wind Energy Guidelines, the project will provide an annual benefit‑sharing contribution of $1,050 per MW, apportioned according to the number of turbines located within each local government area. As required under the guidelines, councils will be offered the opportunity to administer 85% of these funds.
While the final project layout and staging are still to be confirmed, our environmental assessments are based on a notional layout of 166 turbines. If all turbines were constructed at 8 MW, the project would have a total installed capacity of 1,328 MW, generating approximately $1.39 million per year in community contributions. Over a 30‑year operating life, and assuming annual CPI growth of 3%, this equates to a total contribution of more than $66 million. It is more likely, however, that the project will be delivered in stages. For example, a 500 MW first stage would generate annual contributions of approximately $525,000, resulting in more than $25 million over 30 years for that stage alone.
Neighbourhood Benefits
Our Neighbourhood Benefits Program is currently designed to deliver over $360,000 per year. This is substantially higher than the guideline requirement of $150 per MW, which would equate to $199,200 per year.
Community Benefit-sharing Program
Neoen will make an annual commitment under the Community Benefit-Sharing Program to provide significant benefits to communities living around our Bondo Wind Farm.
Funding will be available if the project goes into operations and will continue for its 25+ year
lifespan. We aim to fund local projects and initiatives in one of the following growth areas:
Arts, Culture & events
Fostering creativity and connection in the community through art, culture & community events.
Energy efficiency & environment
We could provide grants to make rooftop solar and batteries more affordable for community centres or for local conservation initiatives.
Disaster relief & emergency services
We can support communities impacted by natural disasters near our project site or to local emergency services groups.
Education & training
Addressing local skills development and adding value to educational opportunities
First Nations initiatives
We can allocate funds to local First Nations community for heritage conservation and self determined initiatives.
Health & wellbeing
Contributing to improved health and wellbeing outcomes in regional communities
Outcomes
If it goes ahead, the Bondo Wind Farm will bring a range of benefits to surrounding communities.

ARTWORK
Neoen, under its Sustainability Framework, has a commitment to create an artwork on all its projects with a capacity of over 50 MW. The artwork aims to celebrate renewable energy and local culture.
If it goes ahead, The Bondo Wind Farm will also deliver an artwork commitment. Here is an example of an artwork design painted on a wind turbine at another Neoen project in Far North Queensland.
